Disney cruise fans have a lot to look forward to these days. Three more ships on the horizon, new destinations, and now…a new agreement with Oriental Land Co., Ltd. that will bring year-round cruises to Japan!
Under the new agreement, OLC will build and operate a Disney-brand cruise business in Japan. It’s expected to begin by early 2029. OLC also owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort, and has a 40-year relationship with Disney.
A new cruise ship, to be based in Japan year-roud, will be constructed at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, with designs created by Disney Imagineering. It will feature many guest-favorite venues and experiences similar to it’s sister ship, the Disney Wish, with a few modifications made with Japanese guests in mind. The gas powered ship will have roughly 1,250 staterooms.
More details about expected launch dates, schedules, and Disney experiences will be provided at a later date.
