Folks, I am from Lexington, NC and if you know anything about Lexington, you probably know that we are ranked at the top of the BBQ world for best BBQ. Now, I have been to Kansas City and some other places in the South and tried their “bbq”, but there is just nothing like Lexington’s pit-cooked pork. Founded by Wayne Monk (AKA Honey Monk) in 1962, Lexington Barbecue is da bomb. (There are plenty of other places across town to grab a bbq plate, but this one is the best!) In Lexington, we serve pork—specifically, shoulders cooked on brick pits over hickory coals and then chopped, sliced, or coarse chopped and tossed in vinegar-based sauce that we call dip. Yummy. But Disney says it is bringing delicious BBQ to Disneyland and what better way to present BBQ but alongside the Country Bears? The bears are putting their own twist on things with the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree take-over. Get your dip, your baked beans and your red slaw and let’s see how it holds up to Lexington’s! They plan to offer a wide range of bbq dishes from house-smoked meats to pulled pork and brisket. Book your trip to Disneyland using this link and heck, while you’re at it, head on over to NC for a taste test! See y’all soon!
